OUR HISTORY

Cityzones.co.uk was conceived back in 1999 and first surfaced in a street guide printed and published at the turn of the century. Cityzones The Portsmouth & Southsea Guide 1999/2000.

Portsmouth and Southsea have of course moved on somewhat since the guide was published however it still serves as an excellent snapshot of Portsmouth and Southsea in the Millenium year. The maps which appear on this site are scanned from this publication which can still be purchased, price £1.20 inc.p&p.

A Guide to our Home Page Links

Beachcomber

If you Google 'Portsmouth & Southsea Diary' you will find that cityzones.co.uk tops the search list. We have enjoyed this position for sometime now, and this is thanks to 'Beachcomber' our seven day diary covering the following:
  • Events
  • Art
  • Music
  • Theatre
  • Cinema

These diaries are more than mere listings. We go out of our way to comb information from local sites, brochures etc so that we provide a really useful diary of what is happening in the city and within a 1.5hr travel span by car.

Shop and Trader Locators

We know that these are useful, especially as parking is sometimes a problem. we will aim to update these guides in the early spring and late summer months. We will also be aiming to bring other streets onboad as well.

Ric's Sketch Book

I have started this diary with a two fold purpose in mind, firstly to encourage people to launch out and start sketching, drawing and painting. Secondly it is
an incentive for myself to really commit to the regular practices of improving my own art skills.

For some the art of drawing and painting is a gift, for others, myself included, these are skills which have to be acquired, yes they require a degree of dedication and commitment. I hope this diary will encourage us both.

Be looking out for you

Cheers
Ric
